"We had a wonderful stay. It's a good way to get to know the Uzbek culture, far away from the touristy areas. It's run by a family. Nigina and her girls cooked amazing fresh food every day. Best food we had in whole Uzbekistan especially the Plov, even the guides who stayed there it's one of the best they ever had. Raxmat is an amazing host he helped us with thing from the beginning till the end, with transportation or also with hike tours. The place is good for every type of travellers, there were also some families, solo female travelers etc. For us, we stayed 3 nights, it was nice to disconnect (they have wifi) but we never used it. There is plenty of things to do like hiking etc. We will miss this wonderful place. Thank you again Raxmat and Nigina!"

"Quiet area just off the Main Street. 10mins walk from the beach. Clean, cozy and chill vibes. Conducive environment to interact with other guests as well. Friendly hosts who provided great information on surrounding attractions."

Toilet room very cold in winter but you don't spend a long time in it anyway, lol. Mattress could be a bit better but nothing that prevented a good night's sleep.

Locating the Da Terra at night is not straightforward. It is surrounded by several houses and some distance off the road.

"The views from the house is amazing! The beaches nearby are empty and beautiful, and you got a bit of a local vibe. Food was really good and in general good value for money. Would highly recommend. If you come to surf be aware that there is no good places to rent proper surfboards nearby🏄‍♀️"

"I tried a hostel for the first time and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. I went in a little sceptical, but a close friend strongly recommended this place—and it completely lived up to (and surpassed) my expectations. The property itself is stunning, perfectly located (a walkable radius from most important landmarks), with a rooftop view that’s hard to beat. But what really made the experience was the vibe—there’s such a natural sense of community here that just pulls you in. What I loved and will miss the most were the owners and staff, who are easily some of the warmest, most genuine people I met on this trip. Somehow managed to feel like I’d known them for ages by the time I left. Left with a full heart and would 100% want to stay here again."

"This is a really great hostel. Perfectly located in the historic centre and yet close to restaurants and shops. A warm welcome and helpful staff throughout who all seem to enjoy their roles. They even provided a towel as well as fresh linen for the dormitory beds. Really nice design for the hostel - clean and bright."

We feel in family! :-) Kelly is so helpful and talkative, always able to give suggestions and help finding activities to do, contacts, etc. His son, Junior, went with us to many places and activities and we fell him like a younger brother! :-) All the family made us feel welcome and at "home far from home". Installations are simple, but in a nice location, in the countryside, quite and friendly place, not far from Goroka center/easy bus connections but we have everything we needed, even to cook our meals. If you want a simple and family place to stay, with someone who will help you around, this is the place! If once I go back PNG and Goroka, I'll stay here again! :-) Thanks Kelly, Junior and family! Hope to see you again!"

It's normal to have light and water cuts. But it's common in the region/general problem and not from the place.

The tap at the kitchen is likking while open. Somw floor tales must be fixed. One of the light bulbs needs replacement.

"The staff were amazing! So friendly, and helpful. There was milk provided for the guests which was a bonus as I always bring tea bags with me, so saved me a walk to the shop. The location was brilliant and the hostel was very clean"

The only issue is that I’ve stayed in similar hostels, but the price was nowhere near as expensive. I know it’s in Zurich, but it’s still a hostel.

"Lovely staff, really informative and kind. The hostel Backpackers was clean, comfortable and nice inside and out. Absolutely brilliant location - close to bus stops, Cuba Street, good eateries and has all you could need in the Backpackers. A fully functional kitchen, a lounge where you can chill with your buddies, board games to play, a nice outdoor deck. I also like the fact they had a female only bathroom downstairs. The showers were excellent, too!"

The bedroom I stayed in didn't have a lock that worked on the door, which was a bit concerning. I don't love that.

Torn curtains and the tiniest pillows in existence. Also, very loud from outside, but we were too tired to care - might be useful for somebody else to know.
