"Clean and friendly hostel with good kitchen, showers, laundry machine. Comfy beds, good pillows, amazing staff. We recommend a longer stay in Barentsburg to taste some of its vibe of humble, genuine, peaceful, friendly creativity in an amazing setting. We stayed one week, could easily have stayed longer. We will be back! Thank you!"

"The staff is great! Kristina was super helpful and told us a bit about life in Barentsburg."

"The safe for rifle and flare gun is next door in the hotel and the reception was closed between 19 and 9. So plan your late evening and early morning trips well. The staff agrees to come and open the safe if you tell them the exact time though, so once again staff is very helpful. We just felt bad making Kristina wake up at 7 only to come and open the safe for us."

"Very convenient cabins in front of the lake. We only stayed one night during Winter, so didn't see the much of the outside but it looked beautiful: we'd love to come back and stay longer!"

"Such high quality of everything at such a remote location. The staff was great, doing an excellent job of running the place. The food was so delicious: the breakfast, the dinner, and also the freshly baked cookies and cakes in the community building. A special treat was watching movies about the history of this remarkable place in the evening, in the comfortable sofas of the bar area. The rooms are clean and simple. I initially worried a bit staying there would become boring, since there is no internet, and it is not possible to leave the hotel on your own (because of the possibility of polar bears). I was wrong: Multiple guided tours could be booked on the spot, visiting different areas of the settlement (or, in summer, even the surroundings, but I was there in October, with snow already covering the landscape). I highly recommend this place, run so professionally by the staff."
