"Nous avons adoré l’endroit : un cadre magnifique, très dépaysant et paisible. L’accueil était exceptionnel, le personnel était gentil, serviable et vraiment adorable avec nous. On s’est sentis très bien pendant tout le séjour."

"Beautiful cottage that I mostly had to myself. There was access to the kitchen, television, and the yard. The host was a lovely man and very kind and helpful. He was also so relaxed about everything. I had the option to use a pool at another hotel as well which was great. I also appreciated the well wishes messages from the host and his staff member when I departed."

"If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay on the Coromandel peninsula, this is it. The Lodge is quite large with everything you could need: kitchenette, couch and TV, comfy bed, large bathroom (tub + huge shower), terrace and the a spectacular view of Whitianga! As you would expect, it was very quiet, and the layout is such that, that you can enjoy total privacy. Carol and Warren were very welcoming and we had a nice chat every morning with Warren as he brought us a lovely breakfast. The road up the lodge is fairly steep but it wasn't an issue at all, so if you have a decent car I wouldn't worry about it. While in our particular case, we didn't have the best weather throughout the stay, we appreciated that the lodge is furnished so as to feel like home, which made for a cozy day in. I could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the furnishing and decorating of the lodge!"

"Breakfast was fine - just remember to inform the owner the day before if you require breakfast. Ingrid, the co-owner, is a lovely woman and a fine, traditional cook. You will never leave the table hungry! Whilst she can offer beer at an extra cost, we tended to buy our own along with wine to drink at dinner. Again, you will need to inform Ingrid on the day if you require dinner later. There is no choice; me and my wife are both omnivores with no allergies or intollerances, and always liked what she prepared! Our lodge was spacious with a generous deck overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the sea in the background."

A small fridge in our lodge would have been a great bonus - however, we were free to use Ingrid's fridge. The shower was also a little on the dribbly side!

"Lovingly furnished, clean accommodation in a family atmosphere with hospitable landlords, good sanitary standards and air conditioning, cozy terrace, very good and plentiful breakfast with fruit and local side dishes, option for dinner with excellent Sri Lankan cuisine which we thoroughly enjoyed. "Great location and the scenery was beautiful. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Located on hill tops and the views were amazing! Perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. Surrounded by trees and was entertained by monkeys swinging through the branches. The rooms were also very spacious and allowed a comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient and meals were delivered to the room. Staff were very accommodating and overall had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay."

"The place is so nice. Restaurant is great & so are the rooms. The food was so good & the chef came out to tell us about the dishes, lovely!"

Arrived at 11.30am to some "surprises" from the night before & no beer in the restaurant - someone had a great night! Good for them! Cleaning was dealt with quickly & beer was eventually delivered. A one-off, I'm sure..

"Fantastic location. Great facilities and will be even better shortly with new tents under construction. Excellent meals and extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Take the food and day trip offerings- you won't regret it but stay at least 2 nights to really enjoy the location."
