There was no one there when I arrived and no one replied on WhatsApp. I stayed in the living room from 7am to 11am waiting for something to happen when I actually had messaged the owner days before to say I would arrive early and if I could do early check in. Fortunately the lady working there appeared and allowed me to take a bed before check in time around midday! Very kind !

"Lokasinya sangat mudah ditemui dengan tram nomor 1 ( 4 halte dr mainstation Bratis h.s haltenya depan mc.donald)) jalan kaki ca.20 menit. (ca.1.2 km) Lokasi sangat tepat untuk berkunjung ke tempat sejarah, kuliner dll. Hostel Hyde Park terletak ditengah2 tempat yang bisa dikunjungi tidak perlu transportasi,Toko2 ,Mal,tempat sejarah,kuliner.puas deh tinggal disana. Tuan rumah sangat ramah,kamarnya yang single kecil mungil bersih.lengkap ada kamar mandi sendiri,kasurnga empuk.Airnya untuk mandi ada airpanas"

Kalau bertanya sama orang disitu reaksi mereka langsung pergi Kalau kesana harus siap data yang komplett atau bawa hp kemungkinan Anda dikenai biaya roaming. Kalau beruntung ya dapat orang yang mau beri informasi.perkiraan saya mungkin bahasanya.

My room had a really small window at 2 m hight so the room felt a bit claustrophobic. Also there was a construction site right next to the building which made quite some noise.

The tap at the kitchen is likking while open. Somw floor tales must be fixed. One of the light bulbs needs replacement.

"The atmosphere is very welcoming, homely, laidback. The staff are both locals and volunteers and this mix creates a great atmosphere. The friday braais are great for meeting people and can be a good pre-drinks for going out. Next to that it isn't a massive party hostel, which is a good thing to me. It's social, and many drinks are done in the evening in the common area, but when you go to sleep it has mostly quieted down. People that want to party further go out to the city at that point. There aren't that many other activities, but people organize it through the hostel whatsapp. Sometimes they do a volley session on the beach or volunteers might initiate something like Laura starting her Thursdays morning workout! Also, they are very relaxed in letting us borrow some coolers from the kitchen to go to the beach or a weekend festival even."

I would love it if the volley would become a weekly scheduled thing too. That on Wednesday / Tuesday and the braai on Fridays would be the perfect amount of planned activities combined with spontaneous stuff that's planned through whatsapp.

"The hostel was pretty clean. The staff at the reception were friendly, helpful, and patient. They have a lot of knowledge about tourism in Bagan and were always happy to give advice or answer questions. It was also very convenient that they can help you book buses directly at the hostel, and that you can rent e-bikes. Another big plus is the atmosphere. The hostel is social, but not in an overwhelming way. It’s not loud or pushy. There are great opportunities to connect with other travelers if you want, but you can also just sit by the pool and enjoy some quiet time. I think this place is perfect both for people looking for peace and quiet and for those who want to meet others."

There wasn’t much to complain about. The only small improvement I can think of would be adding curtains to the beds, which would give a bit more privacy.

"Relatively quiet and central location. Helpful and kind staff. Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety including fresh fruit like bananas, apples and oranges. Interesting events, one of them was free pancakes on a Friday night. I enjoyed my stay along with the roommates I met as mutual understanding is crucial."

The ladder for the bunk bed could be improved, maybe softer steps or an extra step on the lower part. A small investment for even better pillows would be welcome in the future.

"Lokasi yang terpenting dekat halte bus. Akan selalu ada pesan WhatsApp sebelum check-in untuk petunjuk arah dan penawaran menarik paket tur. Staf sangat ramah dan menjelaskan detail mengenai hostel sebelum menginap. Mereka fasih berbahasa Inggris dan sebagian juga Rusia. Kamar sangat rapi, bersih, dan nyaman. Kamar mandi bersama tapi privasi tetap terjaga. Bisa juga simpan barang jika mau jalan-jalan setelah check-out."

"Great place to stay in Dakar – a quiet area just outside the very city center, which makes it more peaceful and relaxed, and at the same time it is very close to the sea. You can fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves, and during the day enjoy a beautiful garden full of greenery and chirping birds. Breakfast is elegant and tasty, and the price is absolutely fantastic for Dakar – it is hard to ask for more at this level. For me, in Dakar: a well‑deserved 5 out of 5 stars."

"Perfect location within a couple of minutes' walk from the main train station (and a big mall with a supermarket open until late), surprisingly quiet for being in the very centre of the city, exceptionally clean. Great value for money. Very satisfied, thank you so much!"

Toilet room very cold in winter but you don't spend a long time in it anyway, lol. Mattress could be a bit better but nothing that prevented a good night's sleep.

"Fantastic location. I had a private room and bathroom. Fantastic. Quiet, helpful staff and a great location. Loved it. Super close to walking up the hill for a great view over the city and close to all key sites in the old city. Inexpensive and good value. I didn't eat breakfast there as there is a wonderful garden cafe 1 min walk in the same street which is lovely for good coffee and food."

Hot water was a little temperamental and loo leaked.

There wasn't any lift in the property and if you get a room on the 3rd or the 4th floor, you have to take the staircase only.
